Leadercast is the largest one-day leadership event in the world. The 2016 main event was held in Atlanta, Georgia while host locations around the world included additional featured speakers.
Our client Brandon Defour was a featured speaker at one of the satellite events in Connecticut and he wanted to bring a young and energetic tone to a topic that is often presented in a stiff, corporate manner.
Dufour, founder and General Manger of The Next Street, wanted to bring a young and energetic tone to a topic that is often presented in a stiff, corporate manner. He felt vision was often only discussed in terms of large companies or unicorns, even though it is just as applicable to small businesses: “There is still a level of vision necessary to run a small business,” Dufour said.
For his presentation, Dufor wanted to speak to the local community about what vision is, how it relates to their businesses and how they can implement visionary leadership in their own organization. From small businesses to large corporations, he wanted to convey that vision alone doesn’t lead companies to great success but rather the execution on vision. With this topic in hand, Dufour generated a lively discussion with his audience.
We strategized with Dufour to create a visual that would allow the audience to see and understand the different sections of the presentation and how everything fit together. We conceptualized a funnel / inverted pyramid design to help illustrate the 4 steps to successful visionary leadership he was speaking about and how with each progression, fewer people and organizations are able to execute on their vision.
“It’s not enough just to be visionary,” Dufour said. “Lots of people can dream of space but leaders such as Elon Musk are successful because they follow through on their vision.
The presentation was a huge success.
“Puffingston was wonderful to work with. They worked with us to understand the situation and build a presentation that single-handedly launched our new brand with incredible success. On a scale of 1-10, I would give them a 12 in all categories!” says Brandon.
It was a cool opportunity for a successful entrepreneur to share with his local community about visionary leadership and how they can implement it successfully in their small businesses. And of course, we love helping our clients transform a vision to a reality with their visual aids!
