Puffingston’s Prezi insights featured in two Inspired Momentum magazine articles!

Puffingston was featured in two recent articles for Inspired Momentum magazine – the first article a “5-Minute Expert” interview with our president Luke Goetting and the second a two-page feature spread titled “Making Presentations…(Wait for It)…Engaging.”

In both articles, we provided insights and recommendations on using Prezi to create engaging business presentations – a hot topic for the marketing and communication professionals that make up Inspired Momentum’s core audience.

In the “5-Minute Expert” column, Luke focused on strategies for creating effective Prezi presentations and how marketers can use the platform’s spatial movement capabilities to their advantage:

Laying the groundwork for an effective presentation with Prezi means first examining the audience and the setting, including the size of the audience, the room being presented in and whether the presentation will be shown through a projector, HDTV, laptop or tablet.

Instead of a few bullet points at the beginning of the presentation, we create a home screen that shows the top-level sections of the presentation and then zooms in on them individually so the audience can easily track the presentation’s logic and progress.

In the two-page feature spread, we provided additional commentary on the history of Prezi and how the architectural background of one of the cofounders helped provide a new approach to the traditional realm of slides:

Prezi allowed an architect to show the big picture of a blueprint and then show individual rooms that make up the building. Think of your rooms as your building blocks, as fundamental pieces of a presentation.

With PowerPoint, it’s difficult to articulate what is a subsection and what is a top-level idea, because all the slides have the same value. Prezi allows you to zoom in to look at the detail level, but then zoom out to look at the top level. It’s very easy for the audience to track.

In addition, the article featured compelling quotes from Prezi enthusiasts at 4INFO – a mobile technology advertising company – and Cognate BioServices – a fully-integrated contract bioservices organization – discussing how they’ve used Prezi to create effective business presentations at conferences.
