It’s been a really exciting (and busy) few weeks for us here at Puffingston as we’ve collaborated with four different companies / speakers on Prezi presentations for the SXSW conference here in Austin, Texas!

We hope to detail a few of the projects in more depth for our ongoing “Prezi in Action” series, but for now we wanted to share some of the quick-hitting info:

Prezi 1: Author Jeffrey Selingo

Our first Prezi project was with author Jeffrey Selingo for his session “Redesigning the Overworked Bachelor’s Degree” at the SXSWedu conference on Monday, March 9.

We collaborated with Jeff on a Prezi for his breakout session and he was able to share his proposals for alternative paths to college and lifelong education with an engaged and curious audience.

Prezi 2: Ship.io

Next was San Francisco-based startup Ship.io competing in the SXSW Interactive “ReleaseIT” competition on Friday, March 13. Company representative Eileen Chow nailed the presentation and Ship.io was announced as one of the 10 finalists in the category, eventually won by Honest Dollar. Definitely a very successful showing for Ship.io’s first SXSW appearance!

Prezi 3: UM Tech Transfer Center

Our third project was a collaboration with the University of Michigan Tech Transfer Center for their spinout session “Science Project to Venture Ready: Outside the Valley” on Saturday, March 14. This session discussed the development of scientific research from universities into viable companies and was headlined by Laura Kerr, Michael Psarouthakis and Wesley Huffmaster.

The session was a definite success—the audience was engaged throughout the Prezi presentation and asked the panel many questions about the details of Michigan’s program.

Prezi 4: Tinitell

Our fourth Prezi project was a collaboration with Swedish startup Tinitell—the creator of a wristphone and GPS tracker for kids to move freely while still being connected with their parents. Tinitell CEO Mats Horn was presenting in the SXSW Accelerator competition for the Wearable Technologies category and needed a dynamic Prezi to showcase his company’s product.

We created a Prezi for Mats for the 2-minute competition on Saturday, March 14 and he delivered a great performance to make Tinitell one of the three finalists in the category. Finalists were allowed 5 minutes for their presentations the next day so we helped Mats add some additional content to his Prezi and once again, he wowed the panel with his presentation. At the awards ceremony that evening, Tinitell was announced the winner of the Wearable Technologies category for SXSW Accelerator 2015!

Overall, we’ve had a great experience here at SXSW 2015 and we have more proof than ever that a dynamic Prezi presentation can really help speakers and companies engage their audiences and better deliver their messages. We can’t wait to see what’s in store for next year’s show and we look forward to working with more speakers and companies to WOW their audiences!
