It all started in the summer of 2013 with a former sales manager trying to help companies create engaging business presentations. 3 years and many new team members later, Puffingston is going strong and helping more clients than ever WOW their audiences!
Puffingston officially turned 3 in late July and we celebrated by getting out of the office and taking a company field trip around Austin. It was an adventure filled with fun, food and (of course) a visual communication project.
We started with a private tour at the Blanton Museum of Art to get up close and personal with art and design. While we were guided through the museum’s Goya: Mad Reason and Xu Bing: Book from the Sky exhibits, we discussed artistic elements of the works and how we can use them for inspiration in the context of creating engaging presentations.
At the end of the tour, we were tasked with creating a presentation using an assortment of craft supplies to depict the exhibits we had experienced throughout the tour and how they could be linked together. The business team was matched up against the design team and both presentations came out great. It was a fun challenge for everyone – especially since we couldn’t use Prezi, Photoshop or Illustrator for this design!
After the tour, we headed to “restaurant row” on Austin’s Barton Springs Road to get lunch and hang out on the patio at The Shady Grove restaurant. After fueling up on burgers and margaritas, it was time to get our putt-putt on at the iconic Peter Pan Mini-Golf – an Austin institution since 1946. We did our best to avoid obstacle bridges, fairies, armadillos, the T-Rex and the hot Texas sun and ultimately prevailed with a fun 18-hole adventure.
Overall, it was an exciting day away from the office and we’re excited to share it with you! It’s not every day you get the chance to celebrate 3 years of creating dynamic business presentations and now that the partying is complete, we’re looking forward to the next 3 years (and more!) of working with you to engage and amaze audiences like never before!
